In 2024 Compassionate Brattleboro undertook a series of actions related to creating a better understanding of compassion towards nonhuman animals. This included an ad campaign and a conversation with a panel of experts at the Brooks Memorial Library. On this page we present some facts, figures, and resources that can help start and illuminate conversations about compassion and nonhuman animals for those who are curious to explore the idea.
Additionally, thanks to grant funding from A Well-Fed World, we started a subgroup, Compassionate Dining, whose mission is to inspire people to eat compassionately, sustainably, and healthfully by increasing the availability of plant-based menu options. If you are connected to a restaurant in the greater Brattleboro area then we'd love to hear from you at [email protected]. We have a variety of ways to improve menus and create inclusive dining experiences that will help to grow your customer base.
